Share a Dashboard
Dashboard Sharing in ViewZen Analytics allows users to grant others access to specific dashboards. Access to dashboards can be granted for either viewing or collaborative design purposes.
Types of Sharing
Public Access
The "Make this Dashboard Public" option in ViewZen Analytics allows users to share a dashboard with a wider audience, granting public access without any restrictions. By enabling this feature, the dashboard becomes accessible to anyone who has the link, making it ideal for sharing key insights with external stakeholders, clients, or a broader team.
When a dashboard is marked as public, users no longer need specific permissions to view it, and it can be shared openly through a link.
Restricted Access
You can share a dashboard with user groups based on their roles and permissions.
You can specify the type of access each group receives, such as:
View-Only Access: Users can view the dashboard and its data but cannot make any changes.
Edit Access: Users can make changes to the dashboard, modify visuals, or update data sources.
Context-based Access - User may have an associated context which will additionly get applied when they access the dashboard. Context based permissions filter the data by the applied context.
This system of restricted access helps maintain security over dashboards and data, ensuring that the users get access based on the permissions alone.
Here’s how dashboard sharing works:
Locate the dashboard that you need to share.
Open the dashboard in "Designer" mode.
Click on the "Share" icon. It is present in the top right corner of the components ribbon.
Choose the user group and grant the necessary permissions.
Note: Ensure you have the appropriate permissions to share the dashboard.
