# Image

The **Image Component** in ViewZen Analytics allows users to add images to dashboards for better visualization and branding. The image component can also be used to browse the images of a dataset.

### Use Cases for Image

* Add company logos, product branding, or organizational identity to dashboards.
* Use icons or symbols to visually represent categories, metrics, or statuses in a zone component.
* Create visual buttons that can navigate to different urls.

The following data properties can be configured for the image component

* [Column ](/userguides/viewzen-analytics/dashboard/create-a-dashboard/toolbar/place-components/properties/data-properties/column.md)- One column (type - text) can be added to the image component. This column in the dataset should have the full and absolute path of the image.

**Image Config**

**Image Config** provides the settings for an image component. The following settings are available

* **Add Image:**  Allows a user to add static images and control the display of the images in the component.
  * Animation Interval - Controls the time interval between appearance of two images. Is specified in secs.
  * Animation Type - Controls how images exit.
    * Slide - Moves the component out of view in a sliding motion.
    * Fade - Image will fade and disappear
  * Slide Orientation - This setting is available only when the animation type is set to **"Slide."** It specified the direction in which the image exits.
    * Horizontal
    * Vertical
  * Source - This option is enabled when no column is added in the data property.
    * URL - The image can be loaded from an publically accessible external web link by providing a valid image URL.
    * Icon path - Users can use the images from an iconpath.
    * User Image - Can be used to display the organization logo or the profile picture of the user who is logged in.
