Edit Components

The Edit Tool allows you to modify its properties, data bindings, formatting, and interactions of a visual component. Users can adjust settings such as dimensions, colors, labels, filters, and data sources to customize the visual representation. Depending on the component type, additional options like axis settings, legends, animations, and interactivity can also be configured.

A visual component already placed on a dashboard can be edited in two ways.

• Edit Tool in the Designer Toolbar

  • The Designer Toolbar provides an Edit tool that allows users to modify any selected visual component.

  • By selecting the component and clicking the Edit tool, users can access its configuration settings and make necessary changes.

• Edit Tool on the visual component

  • Each visual component has its own Edit option, which is displayed when you hover over the component.

  • Clicking this option directly opens the settings for that specific component, allowing users to update properties like data fields, formatting, and interactivity.

  • This method is quick and convenient for making adjustments to individual components.

Only dashboard designers (users with access to create or edit dashboards) can edit components on a dashboard.
