Fixed Filters
Fixed filters are permanently applied filters to limit the visual data on predefined conditions. Unlike interactive filters that users can modify, fixed filters remain constant and cannot be changed or removed by end users during dashboard interaction.
Use Cases
A order management dashboard that always shows orders by orders in transit, orders on hold, booked orders, cancelled orders, back orders, drop ship orders etc.
A dashboard for retail analytics to show sales data from the last two years only.
A financial dashboard that excludes transactions or certain account types.
Types of Fixed Filters
In ViewZen Analytics, the following types of fixed filters are supported
Dashboard Filters - These filters are applied universally to all components within the dashboard. They are particularly useful when the dashboard is designed to present information within a specific context, such as booked orders or receivables. In such cases, certain data must be filtered across all visual components to ensure that the displayed information is relevant and meaningful.
Sheet Filters - These filters are applied universally to all components within a dashboard sheet. They are particularly useful when the dashboard sheet is designed to present information within a specific context, such as booked orders or receivables. In such cases, certain data must be filtered across all visual components in the sheet to ensure that the displayed information is relevant and meaningful.
Zone Filters - These filters are applied universally to all components within the zone. They are particularly useful when the zone is designed to present information within a specific context, such as booked orders or receivables. In such cases, certain data must be filtered across all visual components within the zone to ensure that the displayed information is relevant and meaningful. Navigate to component properties to locate the filter tool in the zone component.
Visual Component Filters - These filters are applied only to specific visual components if a dashboard. They are particularly useful when the visual component is designed to present information within a specific context, such as booked orders or receivables. In such cases, certain data must be filtered for that visual component alone to ensure that the displayed information is relevant and meaningful. Navigate to component properties to locate the filter tool in the zone component.
