Custom Roles

Roles -> + Create Role

In ViewZen, Custom Roles allow organizations to create tailored access control configurations based on specific needs. Rather than relying on predefined standard roles, custom roles enable organizations to define precise permissions that control what users can and cannot do within the platform and the products.

With custom roles, administrators can assign unique sets of granular permissions to users, ensuring that they have the right access to resources and functionalities based on their job responsibilities.

For example, an organization may create a custom role for a Pipeline Designer that grants access users assigned to this role to create pipelines but do not give them create, view, edit or delete permissions on any other Analytics resources.

Custom Roles can be created by a user who has the Owner or Administrator Role

Create a Custom Role

Click on "+ Create Role"

Enter Role, Short Name and Description

The shortname uniquely identifies a role within a tenant. Duplicate shortnames for roles are not permitted.

Copy the permissions from an existing Roles

This feature allows a new role to be created quickly, with only the necessary changes needing to be made. Therefore, it is recommended to select a role (copy role) that requires minimal changes.

Enable / Disable the required permissions

Click on "+ Create" to create the role
